Summary of the contracting process

North West Fire Control, based in Warrington, has completed a procurement process titled "NWFC | Mobilising System Solution Procurement". The contract, valued at £15,275,577, pertains to information technology services within the ICT sector. This process is part of a broader implementation programme involving Motorola and aims to integrate the MODAS Gateway for Greater Manchester and Lancashire Fire and Rescue Services. The procurement method was limited, using an award procedure without prior publication of a call for competition. Key dates include the initial contract signing on 20th January 2025, with notable installation and testing milestones extending through to September 2027. The main development for this service involved a change request resulting in additional costs due to unforeseen services.

This procurement presents significant growth opportunities for businesses specialising in ICT services, particularly those with expertise in integrated system solutions for emergency services. The contract is well-suited for companies that can offer cutting-edge technology solutions and support services. SMEs such as Frequentis (UK) Limited, the awarded supplier, underline the accessibility of such contracts for businesses of various scales, while highlighting the importance of adaptability, as seen with the technical adjustments involving third-party applications. Companies looking to engage with public institutions like North West Fire Control can benefit from closely aligning with specified technological needs and delivering innovative, efficient solutions to drive value in public service ICT projects.
