Summary of the contracting process

Centre for Process Innovation Limited is procuring specialist filters through a framework agreement to support its activities across multiple sites. The requirement covers four areas: capsule filters for normal-flow filtration in bioprocessing, including sterilisation, cell-culture media preparation and viral clearance; capsule depth filters for primary clarification of cell-culture harvests in biotechnology and biopharmaceutical processes; tangential-flow and hollow-fibre filters for purification of biotechnology and biopharmaceutical products; and plant filters. This is a goods requirement for suppliers able to provide filtration products and work collaboratively with CPI, integrating their supply with existing infrastructure and other activities across its sites.

The procurement has reached tender: CPI invited offers through an open procedure for a closed framework agreement, with call-offs made either with or without reopening competition. It is divided into four lots, and suppliers may assess the normal-flow, pre and depth filtration, TFF and hollow-fibre, and plant-filter requirements separately. The tender submission deadline was 9 September 2026 at 12:00 BST, with the award decision due by 12 October 2026 at 23:59 BST. Each lot has an estimated value of £125,000 excluding VAT, or £150,000 including VAT; the whole procurement is estimated at £500,000 excluding VAT and £600,000 including VAT. The contract period for every lot is 23 October 2026 to 22 October 2030. Evaluation is based on quality at 65% and price at 35%.
