Summary of the contracting process

Bristol City Council is currently in the planning stage of a procurement process focused on the "Bristol Respite Rooms" project. This initiative aims to provide short-stay respite accommodation for women facing multiple disadvantages, including homelessness and domestic abuse. The procurement falls under the services category and is seeking market engagement to assess interest and gather insights before determining the final procurement route. Interested parties should note the Expression of Interest opens on 6 July 2026 and closes on 13 July 2026, with submissions due by midday. The project location is in the UKK region of the United Kingdom, with a planned contract period from 1 April 2027 to 31 March 2029. The procurement will be conducted under the legal basis of UKPGA 2023/54, and the Council has not committed to a specific procurement method yet.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specializing in accommodation services, particularly those equipped to handle short-term furnished lettings or those involved in social work services with accommodation. Companies with experience in addressing the needs of vulnerable populations, such as those providing specialist domestic abuse support or housing services, are well-suited to compete for this contract. Engaging in this procurement process allows businesses to contribute to a socially impactful project while expanding their operations in public sector contracts. The project's focus on stabilisation and recovery offers a platform for companies to deliver sustainable housing solutions and engage in meaningful community support initiatives.
