Notice Description
To deliver all preventive, corrective, and technical support activities necessary to maintain the three locomotives in a safe, reliable, and operational condition. This includes: * Scheduled preventive maintenance * Annual (12 month) servicing * Fault diagnosis and repairs * Software and control system support * Provision of spares, documentation, and technical reporting
Procurement Information
The locomotives are bespoke assets designed and manufactured by Clayton Locomotives Ltd (formerly Clayton Equipment Ltd), a specialist locomotive builder, and were procured by Sellafield Limited in 2021. These locomotives are used to support all value streams across the Sellafield site and are critical operational assets. Clayton Locomotives retains exclusive ownership of the Intellectual Property software controlling the locomotives' operation. Due to the integration of this software with the locomotives, and the absence of third parties with access to the necessary Intellectual Property, only the original manufacturer is capable of providing safe and compliant maintenance and support services.
