Gloucestershire Refugee Support Service
Notice Description
Gloucestershire County Council is looking to go to open market in August 2026 to procure a contract for the provision of support services for refugees and would like to invite prospective tenderers to attend a market engagement event via MS Teams on 23rd July 2026, where details of the procurement process, indicative dates and requirement details will be presented. The event will be from 11am to 12pm online via MS Teams. The number of representatives will be limited to two people from each organisation. An MS Teams link will be sent to organisations attending. If you are interested in attending, please provide details to Loveness Chitiyo via email to loveness.chitiyo@gloucestershire.gov.uk, noting the following: Name and role of each person attending Organisation name Email address of each person attending Mobile phone number of each person attending Please send confirmation of attendees by 22nd July 2026. Below is a short description of the Contract. The aim of the Service is to provide a personalised, holistic support service, which delivers hope and optimism for eligible refugees by: Providing a warm welcome into a comfortable, safe home Supporting them to adapt to life in the UK and the Gloucestershire community Building their independence and self-reliance therefore giving them the opportunity to prosper, be healthy, safe and well. In brief, the new support service for refugees will: Tailor support to individuals and families Provide intensive support earlier on in the contract and gradually taper it off as the contract progresses. Identify those individuals and/or families that may need ongoing support due to vulnerabilities post scheme expiration Seek to build resilience and independence in every intervention and element of service design, undertaking a strengths-based approach to support planning. Support will be delivered in a person-centred and trauma-informed way, building on individuals' existing strengths and talents to promote wellbeing, empowerment, and resilience. Enhance the ability of mainstream services to support migrants rather than duplicating services or adding additional pressure. Underpin caseworker support with support in locality hubs and services within local communities. Support community development and ongoing services that support migrants to integrate. Be supported by, and integrated with, existing migrant communities.
