Summary of the contracting process

The Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council has initiated a tender process for the "Glengormley Environmental Improvement Scheme - Antrim and Ballyclare Roads," aiming to revitalise the town centre's public realm. Located in Glengormley, Northern Ireland, the project aims to attract shoppers and visitors by enhancing the area's appearance and functionality. The process is within the 'Tender' stage and follows a selective procurement method under a competitive flexible procedure. Essential dates include an expression of interest deadline of 18th August 2026 and an enquiry period ending on 11th August 2026. Prospective participants should note that submissions must be electronically made through eSourcingNI, and the total project value is estimated at £5.1 million.

This public procurement offers substantial opportunities for construction and civil engineering firms capable of executing extensive public works. Businesses specialising in high-quality street furniture, sustainable features, or natural stone paving will find significant opportunities to engage in this project. Since the tender process involves a competitive flexible procedure, firms that exhibit strong legal, financial, and technical competencies stand to benefit greatly. The endeavour not only brings business advantages through direct involvement in construction but also contributes to enhancing the area's economic and social dynamic, making it a worthwhile pursuit for businesses looking to expand their presence in public infrastructure projects.
