UK Research & Innovation, through its Science and Technology Facilities Council, is procuring industrial lift maintenance, reactive repairs, remedial works and project works. The requirement covers the lifts at Rutherford Appleton Laboratory on the Harwell Campus in Didcot, Oxfordshire. The contract is intended to support the safe and reliable operation of the laboratory’s lift assets, with maintenance and repair activity delivered on site. The buyer may also discuss requirements and cost variations if lifts are installed at Chilbolton Observatory in Hampshire, The Cosener’s House in Abingdon, or other STFC-managed sites in southern England or Wales during the contract. This is a services opportunity for lift maintenance contractors and specialist facilities engineering providers.

Questions must be submitted by 21 August 2026 at 14:00, and tenders by 28 August 2026 at 14:00. The intended award decision date is 15 September 2026. The contract is scheduled to run from 1 October 2026 to 30 September 2029, with an optional one-year extension to 1 October 2030. Its estimated value is £590,000 excluding VAT, or £708,000 including VAT. Evaluation is weighted 70% to technical quality and 30% to price. Electronic submissions are allowed in English.

UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC), wishes to establish a contract cover all industrial lift maintenance, reactive and remedial works at The Rutherford Appleton Laboratory in Oxfordshire (RAL). The site address for delivery of the goods and/or services is: a. Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, Harwell Campus, Didcot, OX11 0QX Currently there are no assets at the other STFC sites listed below * Chilbolton Observatory in Hampshire * The Cosener's House, in Abingdon If in the future Lifts are installed within the above sites, and if further sites come under STFC management in the south of England or Wales, through the term of this contract we will discuss and agree requirements and cost variations.
