Summary of the contracting process

The Department for Business and Trade, through the Office for Product Safety and Standards, intends to procure specialist digital, data and technology support services for the delivery, operation and continuous improvement of its digital services. The required capability covers software engineering, architecture, data, delivery management, product management, user-centred design, testing, DevOps and live service support. The work is expected to support OPSS services across the United Kingdom. It is a services requirement covering IT consulting, software development, internet and support, systems and technical consultancy, and project management consultancy. This procurement is at the planning stage: DBT has announced an intention to buy, but this record does not invite tenders. The anticipated route is a competitive award under Lot 2, Digital Specialists, of the Crown Commercial Service Digital Outcomes and Specialists 7 Framework (RM1043.9), using a selective framework procedure. The planned requirement is above threshold, with an estimated value of £28,050,000 excluding VAT and £33,660,000 including VAT. The initial contract period is expected to run from 1 April 2027 to 31 March 2028, with renewal options extending the maximum period to 31 March 2030.
