Summary of the contracting process

Southminster Parish Council is inviting tenders for construction work at King George V Playing Field, Southminster, under a procurement process categorised as "works" in the construction industry. The tender involves replacing the council's existing fresh water service pipe, including installation of water and monitoring meters, and is valued at £50,000. The contracting authority is actively seeking qualified contractors to execute these works, with the procurement method being a competitive procedure with negotiation. The process is currently in the planning and tender stages, with a crucial deadline for registration set at 9 am on Monday, 3rd August 2026. The work, located in the Southminster area, requires contractors experienced in similar infrastructure projects, particularly those involving water utility services.

This tender presents an attractive opportunity for businesses specialising in water utility construction work, particularly those capable of handling infrastructure projects and adhering to regional utility standards. Qualified contractors with a focus on civil engineering or construction services could find this project beneficial for expanding their portfolio in regional municipal projects. Additionally, it provides an avenue for businesses to leverage their experience in the installation of utility systems and infrastructure maintenance, catering specifically to public sector requirements. Engaging in this project could enhance a business’s reputation and open further opportunities within the public procurement arena, particularly with local government bodies.
