Summary of the contracting process

The Northern Ireland Housing Executive (NIHE) is conducting a preliminary market consultation exercise to explore innovative models for procuring professional services, focusing on enhancing transparency, efficiency, and supplier management. Located in Belfast, UK, the Executive operates within the public authority sector under Northern Irish devolved regulations. This engagement is part of the planning stage, aiming to gather market insights as part of a research project. The consultation period has been scheduled with a due date for responses set for 24 August 2026, and involves no formal tender or procurement obligations at this time.

This exercise presents an opportunity for businesses, particularly small and medium enterprises (SMEs), in the architectural, construction, engineering, and inspection services sectors to influence future procurement processes. By providing input on current practices and sharing innovative solutions, businesses can help shape the NIHE's strategic approach, potentially paving the way for future collaborations. Such engagement is beneficial for organisations looking to enhance their visibility and relationships within the public sector, without any immediate competitive assessment involved.
