Summary of the contracting process

Powys County Council is currently in the planning stage of a public procurement process entitled "Re-Opening of Support Services Framework for Babies, Children, Young People and Families Lot 3." This tender falls under the industry category of services, particularly health and social work services. The procurement involves the provision of support services across the county of Powys, United Kingdom, under the light-touch regime as per the Procurement Act 2023 and governed by the Procurement (Wales) Regulations 2024. The framework will allow for expressions of interest from suitable providers to deliver a broad spectrum of support services, with opportunities for new suppliers to join the existing framework. A key date is the "Meet the Buyer" event scheduled for 18th August 2026, with service provision under the contract expected to commence on 1st December 2026.

This procurement presents a significant opportunity for businesses in the fields of social care, health services, and community support. The framework seeks to attract small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs), who are well-suited to deliver varied support services such as sessional support, community projects, and residential care. The initial contract period runs until November 2029, with potential renewals extending to 2031, providing long-term opportunities for growth and stability. Businesses with expertise in statutory assessments and holistic therapies, among other services, will find this tender particularly beneficial for expanding their client base within the public sector.
