Summary of the contracting process

The Royal United Hospitals Bath NHS Foundation Trust is initiating a procurement process under the Provider Selection Regime (PSR) for the provision of a novel diagnostic service focused on gynaecological hospital services. This involves the introduction of the WID-Easy swab test, a pilot programme at their Bath location aimed at detecting or ruling out endometrial cancer. The procurement process is handled through a single tender process without prior call for competition, with an anticipated contract value of £422,400. The process is at the award stage with the intent to award notice published on 4th August 2026. Formal representations from interested parties must be submitted by 14th August 2026, marking the end of a 10-day standstill period.

This tender represents a strategic opportunity for suppliers in the healthcare services industry to secure a contract for a cutting-edge diagnostic service that enhances patient care through minimally invasive techniques. Businesses equipped with expertise in pathology services, particularly those capitalising on innovations in diagnostic testing, such as Advanced Global Health Limited, the intended awardee, are well-suited to compete. Such a contract not only drives business growth but also aligns suppliers with NHS's long-term goals of delivering high-quality, integrated, and socially valuable health services. This project, scheduled between August 2026 and July 2027, offers a significant avenue for suppliers to establish a foothold in the specialised healthcare sector within the UK.
