Summary of the contracting process

Vale of Glamorgan Council is procuring generic floating support services to prevent homelessness across the Vale of Glamorgan, including Penarth. The service will provide flexible, housing-related support for a 180-unit service and for people aged over 55 with support needs, people with learning or physical disabilities, and people with chronic illness. It will help people at risk of homelessness access information, advice, support and resources, enabling them to make informed choices and improve their housing outcomes. The contract also includes floating support for the new Penarth Extra Care Scheme. This is a social work and related service, with the Council as both buyer and service commissioner. The Council considers TUPE to apply.
