Summary of the contracting process

Defence Equipment and Support is procuring modular furniture, furnishings, non-patternised items, spares and associated services for Royal Navy ships and submarines. The requirement covers current and future platforms and is intended to support their operational needs. The contractor will provide project and service management, technical and engineering support, configuration and safety management, supply-chain and inventory support, obsolescence management, codification, quality assurance, technical documentation, furniture and spares. The scope also includes maintaining key performance standards, management information and reports, and compliance with Ministry of Defence policies, DEFCONs, Defence Standards and security requirements. Delivery and support are required across the United Kingdom. This is a defence and security goods requirement for modular furniture.

The procurement has reached tender: the buyer invited expressions of interest and will use a selective competitive flexible procedure. Interested suppliers must respond by 2 October 2026 at 17:00; enquiries close on 18 September 2026 at 17:00. Economic and technical assessment at the procurement-specific questionnaire stage will determine which three highest-scoring providers are invited to tender. The contract is planned from 30 April 2027 to 29 April 2030, with a possible extension to 29 April 2032 and two one-year additional-purchase options. A certified quality management system to ISO 9001:2015, or a suitable alternative issued by a nationally accredited certification body, is required within the appropriate scope; contract quality will be governed by AQAP 2110. Suppliers must demonstrate the organisational, economic and technical capacity assessed through pass/fail and scored questions, meet Ministry of Defence policies, Defence Standards, DEFCONs and security requirements, and manage foundational cyber risk controls.
