Summary of the contracting process

Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council is procuring evaluation consultancy services for the Tees Urban Nature Network (TUNN), in partnership with Middlesbrough Council and Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council. The appointed partner will act as a critical friend to a wider partnership including Tees Valley Wildlife Trust, Sport England’s You’ve Got This initiative, Business in the Community, Teesside University and environmental and voluntary organisations. The work will evaluate a Nature Towns and Cities project aimed at creating healthier, greener and more resilient urban networks across the Tees Valley. Its scope covers green and blue infrastructure, connections between people, place and nature, inclusive community-led nature recovery, continuous improvement, learning, capacity building, reflective practice, and evidence of outcomes and impacts. Delivery covers Redcar, Middlesbrough and Stockton-on-Tees.

The procurement reached tender: the councils invited offers through a below-threshold open competition, with electronic submission allowed via the Open system. Experience relevant to urban nature recovery, green and blue infrastructure, inclusive community-led activity, environmental programmes or place-based partnerships would be well aligned.
