Notice Description
To provide waste management to the Royal Armouries Museum, Leeds, and at Fort Nelson in Portsmouth, which is reliable; efficient; auditable and cost-effective waste collection, disposal and recycling service which complies with all current legislation and Health and Safety standards Current Scope * General waste collection and disposal * Dry mixed recycling and segregated recycling streams * Glass collection * Food waste collection, * Provision, delivery, maintenance and replacement of bins, skips or other containers * Scheduled and ad hoc collections * Waste transfer documentation and full traceability of waste streams * Performance reporting, including volumes, recycling rates and disposal routes * Support for waste reduction, segregation and improved recycling performance * Animal waste skips to support horse show events throughout the year. The appointed supplier. shall ensure that all services are delivered by competent, suitable personnel, in compliance with all relevant health and safety and waste legislation and best practice. ESTIMATED CONTRACT VALUE (INCL. VAT): PS322,000 * Initial term: PS193,000 * Optional extensions: PS129,000
Planning Information
The key purpose of this notice is to alert the market to the Tender and to flag the new social value criteria and outcomes that are being proposed for it, and thus to obtain feedback from suppliers. The social value outcomes that will form 10% of the quality evaluation criteria will consist of the following: 1.Fair work – Create and retain high quality jobs Suppliers will need to demonstrate that they are providing opportunities for, and measuring and monitoring of, staff workforce conditions over time, including employee engagement, involvement in decision-making and satisfaction and adapting to any changes in the results, with clear processes for acting on issues identified 2.Fair work - Fair pay practices Suppliers will need to demonstrate that they provide payment of more than the National Minimum Wage or National Living Wage (as appropriate) to the contract workforce. 3.Sustainable Procurement practices- Deliver additional environmental benefits in the performance of the contract, including working towards net zero greenhouse gas emissions and use of clean energy and green technologies Suppliers will need to demonstrate green initiatives, support client goal for reduction in landfill waste, additional environmental benefits in the performance of the contract. Suppliers wishing to participate must email the Estates Team at Victoria.Archdale@armouries.org.uk to request the supplier questionnaire by 14 August 2026 at 12:00 and return it completed no later than 23 August 2026 at 17:00.
