Summary of the contracting process

Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council is procuring recycling treatment and disposal services for waste streams collected at its household waste recycling centres. The requirement covers eight material streams: building rubble and soil, household wood, hard plastic, mattresses, carpet, plasterboard, sheet glass and PVC. The Framework will be divided into eight (8) Lots, and one (1) Prime Contractor and one (1) Contingent Contractor will be awarded per Lot. Each Lot includes a specific material requiring recycling treatment. Materials will be delivered by the Contracting Authority to the Contractors facility for treatment by the Contractor. Tenderers are permitted to bid for one or more Lots.
