Summary of the contracting process

Milton Keynes City Council is buying 475 smartphones for use by its sheltered housing service and ICT staff. This is a goods requirement for mobile telephones, with delivery in the Milton Keynes area.

The buyer invited offers through an open competition. Questions were due by 11.59pm on 13 November 2026 and tender submissions by 12 noon on 19 November 2026. The contract period is 1 December 2026 to 31 January 2027. The estimated value is £98,000 excluding VAT and £117,600 including VAT. Bids are assessed against pass/fail criteria, followed by price accounting for 100% of the evaluation.

This requirement suits suppliers able to provide 475 smartphones for council staff and sheltered housing use. The stated scale is a single supply requirement; the published evaluation basis places all scored weighting on price after suppliers pass the initial criteria. It may therefore suit businesses with the stock and delivery capacity to fulfil the order at a competitive price.
