Summary of the contracting process

Balfour Beatty Rail Ltd, based in Pontypridd, is managing a public procurement process titled "Troughing Gangs Framework," aimed at servicing the Core Valley Lines infrastructure over the next three years. This tender falls under the works category and is currently in the award stage, with a total value of £600,000 divided among three suppliers, including Excell Rail Ltd, Mikerry Rail, and Mcginley Support Services (Infrastructure) Ltd. Key dates include the tender publication on 1st November 2021 and the tail end of the award period on 17th December 2021, with submissions conducted through Balfour Beatty's recommended tendering portal, Jaggaer.

This procurement offers a prime opportunity for businesses specialising in rail infrastructure, particularly those that demonstrate competencies in troughing works and have the required pre-qualification certifications. Companies that can deliver on sustainability commitments and meet Balfour Beatty's specific criteria stand to benefit significantly. Firms in the construction and rail sectors, especially those proficient in subcontracting, are encouraged to explore these openings as they align with ongoing infrastructure developments under the auspices of Transport for Wales.
