Notice Description

The Museum is seeking to procure, through a competitive tendering process, three cases to facilitate the short-term (3 months min; 12 months max) display of objects within the Wales Is gallery at St Fagans National Museum of History. These cases must be installed and an invoice received by Friday 18 March 2022.Over the course of their usable lifetime, they will be expected to house a wide range of museum objects, including items on loan from other institutions and individuals. To facilitate this, the cases must meet the most stringent loan requirements with respect to security and environment. The environmental performance specification is based on ensuring the cases could provide an environment suitable for archaeological ironwork, i.e. an RH of less than 30% for 4 - 6 months depending on gallery environment. This will ensure that the cases are be capable of maintaining any other display environment required by a loaning institution with ease, by adjusting the type, quantity and conditioning of the silica gel used.NOTE: The authority is using eTenderwales to carry out this procurement process.
