Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process initiated by Cyngor Gwynedd Council focuses on the "Smart Local Energy System Feasibility Study and Strategic Outline Case," classified under the general public services category in the services industry. The project aims to explore decentralized energy systems across several local authority areas, including the Isle of Anglesey, Gwynedd, Denbighshire, and Wrexham, with a total funding value of £380,000. The open procedure tender was actively soliciting bids until the deadline on 24 January 2022, with the contract awarded shortly after on 2 March 2022.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses involved in energy system consultancy, environmental services, or research and development in sustainable energy solutions. Companies that specialise in feasibility studies, strategic planning, and technology implementation are particularly well-suited to compete for such projects. The engagement with local authorities also allows for a broader market presence and strengthens connections within the public sector, facilitating further growth in similar future ventures.
