The aim of our services for adults experiencing mental ill health is to work towards a recovery model approach which enables individuals to develop confidence and skills over time to enable them to live as independently as possible. To help us to achieve this aim, we are working with a Registered Social Landlord (RSL) to develop accommodation which will provide 11 one bedroom self-contained flats (plus a staff flat) The development will provide a supported living service to adults who will be assessed in accordance with the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014 and have identified individual support needs and outcomes. It is intended that the accommodation will be available in late Spring 2022. It is proposed that the service will provide long-term accommodation where Individuals will have appropriate legal tenancies, domiciliary care and support. Individuals will be provided with the opportunity to stabilise their lives, better manage and/or improve their mental and physical health, improve their overall quality of life, self-esteem and increase their independence. The Council will be seeking to work with a domiciliary care and support service provider experienced in working with people experiencing mental ill health using the strengths based approach and Recovery model of support.. The Provider must be registered with CIW,compliant with the Regulations and Inspection of Social Care (Wales) Act 2016 (RISCA). It is proposed that the contract duration will be for an initial fixed period of 4 years with the option to extend for up to a further 2 year period.
