Notice Title

Tender for supply of high-temperature, thermogravimetric furnace

Notice Description

A high-temperature, environmental thermogravametric furnace is required which can be used to study oxidation and material-gaseous interactions taking place in samples such as steel, metal alloys as well as materials such as coke, coal, sinter, and refractories. The materials will be exposed to controlled gaseous atmospheres, humidity and high temperatures, while simultaneously recording the mass change of the sample. The high-temperature, environmental thermogravametric furnace must be able to heat solid samples at controlled heating rates from ambient to 1400degC in controlled gas atmospheres in a semi-sealed system. The system needs to have interfaces to allow gas ingress and egress. The system must also incorporate a digital mass balance to allow for monitoring and recording of sample mass change during heating and holding under controlled atmospheres. The system should also be capable of operating with corrosive gases such as SO2 with the addition of a humid carrier gas. Interface ports through which thermocouples to directly monitor sample temperature are also required.
