Notice Description

Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council (the "Council") is seeking to appoint the services of a contractor, to carry out site and habitat management works at a number of sites in Neath Port Talbot as part of the 'Connecting Green Infrastructure' regional project.The primary aim of the project, working as part of a new regional partnership, is to enable the co-design and co-delivery of Green Infrastructure (GI) in ways that meets local needs, supports communities and their health, builds ecosystem resilience, and enhances biodiversity.The project is setting out a new and collaborative approach to designing and delivering green infrastructure (GI) across Neath Port Talbot (NPT), Swansea and Carmarthenshire, for the benefit of local communities and their natural environment.Through volunteer development and engagement, and adaptation of internal work practices, the project will maintain and enhance existing GI, and make use of GI mapping to inform delivery and utilisation of new GI, delivering practical improvement projects across the region.The project will be managed by Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council, led by the Green Infrastructure Project Manager, with support being provided by project partners.The volunteer co-ordinator will be expected to take the lead in bringing a network of sites into active, conservation management, and identify sites that are appropriate to bring into management.
