Floral Contract October 2022 - September 2025
Notice Description
Monmouth Town Council own flower beds and baskets/containers throughout the town that are designed to provide an attractive, vibrant, pollinator friendly and sustainable display for the enjoyment of residents and tourists, day trippers and business visitors. In 2020 Monmouth was the first UK town to be named a "bee town" because of its and the community's work in making the town pollinator friendly, (flowers that provide nectar or pollen for a wide range of insects), and certified organic wherever possible and practical, therefore any contractor will be required to operate on this basis. Monmouth Town Council takes the quality of the environment very seriously and is committed to providing attractive Bee Friendly Sustainable floral displays in and around the town centre and surrounding areas all year round. The Council may at a future time enter the Wales in Bloom and any local Monmouthshire in Bloom competitions; therefore, all flowers and displays must be creative and contain sturdy plants. In addition, during COVID Monmouthshire County Council, (MCC) installed planters in Monnow Street which the Town Council maintain currently and are listed in the Schedule of Works. It should be noted that these are wooden structures that may be temporary depending on any further road changes in Monmouth Town Centre, and your pricing should reflect separate costings, should these be removed, moved, or added to in the future.
