Consultation on the North Wales Domiciliary Care Framework Specification for Re-tendering Introduction This consultation is taking place because we want to hear your views on how domiciliary care services in North Wales should best be developed and delivered, via the North Wales Domiciliary Care Framework. Domiciliary care' or 'home care' aims to enable people with care and support needs to maximise and maintain their wellbeing and have an improved quality of life. The six Local Authorities and Health Board in North Wales are recommissioning domiciliary care under the North Wales Domiciliary Care Framework, with a view to achieving/continuing to develop outcomes-focussed care and support across the region. This domiciliary care will be for adults and children/young people with a wide variety of needs and circumstances. The current Framework is due to expire 31st March 2025. We must therefore complete a tender exercise. Existing providers under the framework will be able to bid, and the framework will also be open to new providers. What we're consulting on 1. We are consulting on the draft service specification, which outlines the parameters, service delivery requirements and outcomes to be achieved. 2. The specification will sit within the framework agreement, which outlines the terms and conditions. We are not consulting on these terms and conditions. 3. We are also not consulting on the decision to re-tender - we must re-tender in order to comply with procurement regulations. The full draft service specification is included as an appendix to this document. This draft specification has so far been developed by commissioners in the Local Authorities and BCUHB.
