Notice Description

Cardiff Harbour Authority is the statutory Harbour Authority for Cardiff Council and is responsible for managing the Barrage, Outer Harbour and the Inland Bay including the rivers Taff and Ely up to the weirs of Blackweir and Wiggins Teape respectively. Cardiff Harbour Authority took over these responsibilities from Cardiff Bay Development Corporation on 1st April 2000.To fulfil its statutory functions as set out in the Cardiff Bay 1993 Barrage Act and various marine legislation, the Harbour Authority, under the Harbour Master team operate a small fleet of work vessels. These vary from a 15-meter landing craft to small dory's each with a variety of functions ranging from aeration maintenance, debris clearance to patrol duties and marine enforcement.To be able to perform the above-mentioned duties Cardiff Harbour Authority requires the use of a Quayside Pillar Mounted Slewing Jib Crane. The current crane has the following specifications - Lifting capacity 6000kg. Jib length 6615 mm. Rotation 360 degrees. Hook height 5495 mm.
