Summary of the contracting process

The Cardiff Council is planning a tender for the provision of new residential care homes in Cardiff aimed at addressing the urgent need for such facilities for children and young people in the city. The procurement process, initiated as a market engagement event, will involve the establishment of a diverse range of homes to meet varying needs while ensuring safe and nurturing environments. Organisations with the expertise and capability to deliver these services are invited to participate before the formal tender process begins, with a focus on compliance with regulatory standards and delivering high-quality care.

This opportunity presents a chance for businesses in the services sector to engage with the Cardiff Council in the provision of essential care services for vulnerable groups. Interested organisations must demonstrate their readiness to operate residential care homes in line with Welsh Government guidelines, including achieving registration with Care Inspectorate Wales. The Cardiff Council aims to swiftly establish new homes within Cardiff and seeks potential providers who can contribute to meeting the urgent demand. Businesses that prioritise quality care provision and compliance with regulatory standards are well-suited to compete for this opportunity.
