Project requires the delivery of a shore based net (SBN) fishing scientific observer programme involving: Recruitment of a network of Welsh SBN fishers to participate in the study and allow scientific observers to record their fishing activity data for analysis. Undertaking regular observation of SBN activity carried out by recruited fishers to collect detailed data on fishing gear, method, activity, location, catch and bycatch data. Analysis of collected data to determine any significant relationship between recorded bycatch and fishing related factors which may be managed and mitigated to reduce potential bycatch interactions.
