Summary of the contracting process

Glasgow City Council is conducting a public procurement process for the European Championships 2018, which includes two key service requirements: the Digital Media and Central Results Service, and the Event Management System. This tender is currently in the award stage, having been officially initiated on 4th January 2017, with the tender period scheduled to close on 6th February 2017. Both service categories will be delivered in Glasgow, UK, and the procurement method employed is an open procedure, enabling various suppliers to participate in this process.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses specialising in digital media, event management, technology services, and related fields. Companies that can provide innovative digital solutions to enhance audience engagement, as well as proven experience in managing high-profile events, will be well-suited to compete. Given the extensive requirements for experience in similar projects, firms with a robust portfolio in multi-sport event environments and digital service provision are encouraged to consider submitting their proposals to the Glasgow City Council.

Notice Title

European Championships 2018 - Digital Media, Central Results Service & Event Management System

Notice Description

Glasgow City Council, along with the City of Berlin, is staging the inaugural European Championships in 2018. The European Championships have the following requirements: - Lot 1 - Digital Media & Central Results Service: Lot 2 - Event Management System

Lot Information

Event Management System

The European Championships requires a reliable Event Management Systems service that will support this high-profile event. It needs to satisfy a diverse range of users, including Championships organisers, the athletes, the media personnel and officials. The technology function is one of the centrally driven areas that provide cohesion and integration across the Championships. The provision of Event Management Systems (EMS) for the six sports held in Glasgow will form a key component of the centralised technology services.

Digital Media and Central Results Service

A key requirement of the marketing strategy is to create digital channels that will engage with our target audiences in a creative and innovative way. This should be based on a robust, secure and cost effective technology offering that ensures Championships-wide connectivity, information and public facing services that are fit for purpose and in-line with GCC's core values. Integrated Digital Media channels will play a central role in this strategy providing public engagement through online platforms & social media channels as the primary source of up-to-date information on the Championships.
