Summary of the contracting process

The Maeshowe Shuttle Bus 2017 tender, issued by Historic Environment Scotland, seeks to establish a daily shuttle bus service between Stenness Visitor Centre and Tormiston Mill in Orkney. This tender is classified under the services category and was officially initiated on 3 April 2017, with the tender submission deadline set for 22 February 2017 at 2:00 PM. The contract will cover the service requirements for a 12-month period, with the potential for a further 12-month extension. The contract value requires suppliers to have appropriate transport and insurance capabilities, underlining the tender's operational and legal prerequisites.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in passenger transport and shuttle services, particularly those experienced with public sector contracts. Companies that can ensure reliable service delivery, possess the necessary fleet, and meet the insurance requirements will be well-positioned to compete. Additionally, businesses that are adept at navigating the public procurement processes and can respond promptly to tender submissions will enhance their chances for successful bids, thereby fostering business growth in the sector.
