The authority is seeking contractor(s) for the delivery of Taxi Services (TRA1001C1) operating across the Lothian area covering four geographical lots: Edinburgh City, East Lothian, Midlothian and West Lothian.
Lot Information
Taxi Service - East Lothian
The authority is seeking Contractor(s) for the delivery of Taxi Services (TRA1001C1) operating across the Lothian area covering 4 geographical lots: Edinburgh City, East Lothian, Midlothian and West Lothian. Lot two is for Taxi Services across East Lothian. The taxi services will have three elements of usage: Standing Orders - the provision of a taxi and/or private hire service on a standing order basis (pre-scheduled taxi/private hire service) for the transportation of vulnerable groups who may include but is not limited to disabled (all Taxis must have access for passengers with mobility difficulties, e.g., wheelchair access) or lone travellers, groups with special needs and their escorts, when required etc. Ad Hoc - Provision of a taxi and/or private hire service on an ad-hoc basis mainly for the groups detailed above but in addition to this providing transportation for business related staff requirements across the members accessing this framework agreement. Transportation for NHS Lothian - There will be a requirement for the transportation of blood, specimens and equipment. The transfer of specimens by road is in the scope of the dangerous goods legislation and drivers as a minimum will need to have had awareness such as ADR awareness training. Economic operators may be excluded from this competition if they are in any of the situations referred to in regulation 58 of the Public Contracts (Scotland) Regulations 2015
Renewal: The Authority reserves the right to extend the Framework Agreement for a further 2 x 12 Months subject to satisfactory performance and continued Institutions requirements.
