Summary of the contracting process

APUC Limited is seeking contractors for the provision of taxi services across the Edinburgh region, specifically covering four geographical lots: Edinburgh City, East Lothian, Midlothian, and West Lothian. The procurement process began with the tender being published on 8 February 2017, with the submission deadline set for 13 March 2017. This open procedure aims to select qualified suppliers who can deliver essential service categories for the public sector, ensuring compliance with regulations and offering community benefits. The framework agreement allows for a maximum of 12 participants and includes various contract opportunities, each valued at approximately £1,000,000.

This tender presents significant growth opportunities for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the transport sector, especially those with experience in providing taxis or private hire services. Companies with capabilities to cater to vulnerable groups, including wheelchair access and other special needs, will be particularly well-suited to compete for these contracts. Additionally, businesses that possess the necessary qualifications and insurances, as well as a proven track record in handling transportation logistics for public institutions, are encouraged to participate and potentially benefit from the expected community engagements associated with this framework.
