Award of Interim Staff - Planning Manager
Notice Description
* Lead the work to ensure that the Programme and its constituent projects have appropriate plans in order to allow resource commitment, tracking, oversight and scenario modelling (e.g. impact assessing a likely change);* Define, establish, and assure the arrangements for planning (incl. product identification and estimation), dependency management (incl. internal and external dependencies and constraints), and produce the Programme's Planning strategy and 'plan for a plan';* Ensure the ease of 'roll-up' of milestone, dependency, risk, outcome and benefit realisation information, and that audience-specific views of planning information are maintained;* Establish and maintain the Programme Plan (as single source of the truth) and dependency log, undertaking appropriate dependency tracking;* Ensure that activities relating to pre-transition (e.g. project-level activities and outputs), transition (e.g. go-lives, hyper care, handover) and post-transition (e.g. embedding and benefit realisation) are included in the programme plan;* Assist in the identification and reporting of resource clashes and shortcomings or other areas of concern (e.g. any deviation that requires an exception report);* Along with relevant stakeholders, review the Programme Plan against business-as-usual plans to ensure change can be adopted effectively;* Support and assure project-level planning and dependency management, maintaining a two-way flow of information between the Programme and its constituent parts;* Monitor performance by gathering relevant data, analysing information and evaluating the results, and by maintaining appropriate MI and dashboards;* Actively promote planning activities, creating a greater awareness and understanding of their importance;* Ensure the Planning service provided to the Programme is continually improved (e.g. via Lessons Learned), and that arrangements are in place for an appropriate transfer of skills and knowledge;* To deputise for the Programme Manager as required.
