Notice Description

The culvert under Weavers Place and Mill Court, Newmilns is a semicircular brick arch resting on brick abutments. The condition of the culvert is poor due to the effects of age and water damage.These works involves the insertion of 75m of UV cured in-situ GRP liner into the culvert between the manhole at Mill Court /A71 junction and manhole within the forecourt of Eagle Taxi Hire adjacent to Weavers place in order to strengthen the culvert.The works also involve the excavation and break out of existing brick culvert to form an opening for installation of a reinforced concrete slab and manhole at Weavers Place to allow safe access to culvert.Works also include placement of concrete invert in sections of the culvert where the original brick invert has been washed away, overpumping of culvert to allow placement of UV liner, reinstatement of the forecourt excavations, removal of a dilapidated garage forecourt overhead canopy and associated traffic management.
