Summary of the contracting process

The Scottish Government is conducting a procurement process for the acquisition of Acoustic Transmitters as part of an open tender. This project aims to purchase a maximum of 750 acoustic, coded ID transmitters and 256 depth/temperature coded acoustic transmitters operating at 69kHz, which will primarily be used for tracking salmon in the marine environment. The tender period is set to close on 11 May 2017, with the bid opening scheduled on the same date, and the delivery location is specified as the Marine Laboratory in Aberdeen, UK.

This procurement presents substantial opportunities for businesses specialising in acoustic technology, fisheries management, or environmental monitoring. Companies equipped to develop or supply high-quality tracking devices, particularly those with a proven track record in meeting specific technical and economic criteria, would be well-suited to compete. With an estimated budget of £200,000, potential bidders should demonstrate their financial stability and technical expertise, which may help foster growth and expand their market presence in public sector contracts.
