To accelerate progress in eradicating fuel poverty in North Ayrshire the Council is seeking ways to provide local residents and tenants with access to fairly and predictably priced gas and electricity. This has led us to consider the establishment of an 'Energy White Label' that will be promoted by the authority and backed by a fully licensed supply partner. North Ayrshire Council is seeking prior market engagement from UK licensed energy suppliers regarding a 'North Ayrshire' energy tariff. The intention of this exercise is to obtain feedback from parties who would be interested in working with North Ayrshire Council to offer a competitive energy tariff, suitably branded e.g. North Ayrshire Energy, to our local community. We are seeking initial views from service providers and other interested parties. It is anticipated that this will inform a subsequent procurement process to identify a preferred partner for the proposed initiative. This process will enable us to understand the willingness and capacity of licensed suppliers to meet the objectives of any proposed energy white label. As we anticipate this will be a long term collaboration, NAC would appreciate the views of interested parties on the scope and scale of our ambitious new venture. North Ayrshire Council are seeking input on our intended initiative from any interested parties.
