Summary of the contracting process

The University of Strathclyde has initiated a tender for Window Cleaning Services, aimed at providing internal and external cleaning across its campus, including residences and catering facilities. The procurement process is currently at the Award stage, with the contract effective from 20th February 2018 for a duration of two years, with the possibility of two 12-month extensions. The University is located in Glasgow, and this service falls under the education sector and the services category, using an open procedure for procurement. Key dates include a tender submission deadline that was set for 9th October 2017.

This tender represents a significant opportunity for businesses specialising in cleaning services, particularly those with experience in managing large-scale contracts within educational environments. Potential bidders should possess the necessary qualifications and meet specific financial criteria, such as a minimum turnover and insurance requirements, making it suitable for established service providers with a robust operational capability. The flexibility in cleaning methods required, including abseiling techniques, suggests opportunities for innovative cleaning firms to offer tailored solutions to meet the University’s needs.
