Notice Description

This D&B contract was for works on Plot 8 of Inverness Campus to construct a building of circa 2,420 m2 GFA with a common entrance/core area with feature stair/wc facilities/plant room and two floors of office/lab/shell space with escape stairs and service risers. The contractor will be required to appoint their own design team to complete any post contract design necessary to enable the development to proceed. They will also be responsible for the management of their designers and all sub-contractors to ensure that the project is delivered on time and to budget. Their remit will also extend to the building, fit-out, all associated infrastructure serving the site including internal plot roads, car parking, SUDS, utility connections and landscaping etc.

This NEC3 ECC Option A contract has now been awarded. The total value of the contract is estimated to be between GBP5 000 000 and GBP5 500 000 excluding VAT. It is the intention that a Project Bank Account (PBA) will be used for payment of the Contractor and their supply chain. The account shall satisfy the minimum requirements of a PBA defined at Annex F of "Implementing Project Bank Accounts in Construction Projects". http://www.gov.scot/Resource/0051/00512149.pdf In addition the PBA shall satisfy the minimum requirements for an effectively constituted Trust under Scots law.. Economic operators may be excluded from this competition if they are in any of the situations referred to in Regulation 58 of the Public Contracts (Scotland) Regulations 2015. This contract has not been split into Lots since it would make its execution excessively difficult.

Options: HIE may require the supplier to provide additional services. Any such modification shall be in terms of Regulation 72 of the Public Contracts (Scotland) Regulations 2015.
