"description": "Award against framework: The Health Improvement Fund exists to fund and support health improvement activities across Lothian. The Fund can be used for a wide range of activities seeking to promote health and prevent ill-health, but should not be used for clinical services (regardless of where those clinical services are delivered). The definition of health improvement for the purposes of the fund is given below: \"The main function of health improvement is to find ways of preventing ill-health, protecting good health and promoting better health - this is closely linked to quality of life and the concept of well being. This is achieved by working with local communities and organisations across public, private and voluntary sectors to address the personal, socio-economic and cultural factors that influence the health of each person. Relevant interventions are at the level of group, (inter) organisation, community, whole population and systems. This should be distinguished from clinical interventions that treat individual patients\". Projects that apply for the Health Improvement Fund funding will need to show that they address health improvement as defined above. The project must address health inequalities and target individuals and groups at risk of poorer health outcomes as a result of inequality. The buyer is using PCS-Tender to conduct this ITT exercise. The Project code is 9184. For more information see: http://www.publiccontractsscotland.gov.uk/info/InfoCentre.aspx?ID=2343 TUPE. Bidders should note that staff of organisations currently providing services may transfer under TUPE on award of the contract. Community benefits are included in this requirement. For more information see: http://www.publiccontractsscotland.gov.uk/info/InfoCentre.aspx?ID=2361 A summary of the expected community benefits has been provided as follows: NHS Lothian is committed to maximising Community Benefits from its procurement activities in order to build economic, social or environmental conditions into the delivery of contracts.
