North Ayrshire Peer Support Service (Mental Health)
Notice Description
The peer support service will be open to adults, 18-65years, who have a recognised or diagnosed mental health problem and who are engaged with mental health services in North Ayrshire. The service will provide one to one befriending/social support and activity based group support with the aim of supporting people to engage with their local communities. Peer support workers will have personal experience of mental health problems and share their personal experiences in ways that support, empower and bring hope to the people they support.

Lot 1
The peer support service will be open to adults, 18-65 years, who have a recognised or diagnosed mental health problem and who are engaged with mental health services in North Ayrshire. The service will provide one to one befriending/social support and activity based group support with the aim of supporting people to engage with their local communities. The service will operate within the core times of Monday to Friday 9:00am - 5:00pm, 52 weeks of the year, excluding agreed statutory holidays. However, delivery of the service will require to be flexible to meet the needs of individual service users outwith the core hours. The Provider will be expected to deliver to a minimum of 30 individuals with mental health problems in the first contract year which will increase in year 2. This will include running a minimum of two groups per week once the service is established. North Ayrshire Community Mental Health Services practice approach is recovery focused and strengths based and the provision of a peer support service will contribute to this. Peer support workers will work alongside existing adult mental health services to promote and deliver support that facilitates recovery. Peer support workers will have personal experience of mental health problems and share their personal experiences in ways that support, empower and bring hope to the people they support.
Renewal: Contract may be extended for upto a maximum of 12 months to 30 June 2021.
