Notice Description
You are invited by SRUC (https://www.sruc.ac.uk/), acting on behalf of Agri-EPI Centre Ltd (Agri-EPI) (https://www.agri-epicentre.com/), to Tender for the Supply of Calf Recording Equipment. Agri-EPI plans to invest in equipment for research with calves and young-stock to be based within existing buildings at the SRUC Dairy Research and Innovation Centre (Crichton Royal Farm, Dumfries, DG1 4AS). For the purposes of this description, the collection of equipment, control systems and supporting facilities required shall be referred to as one Module. An assembled Module will be installed into each of eight pens into two existing buildings located at the SRUC Dairy Research and Innovation Centre. The requirement is therefore for 16 Modules. A Module shall consist of all equipment, computing software and ancillary / control equipment needed to run the feed intake and other equipment.

Lot 1
For the purposes of this description, the collection of equipment, control systems and supporting facilities required shall be referred to as one Module. An assembled Module will be installed into each of eight pens into two existing buildings located at the SRUC Dairy Research and Innovation Centre. The requirement is therefore for 16 Modules. In order to facilitate research projects at other locations, Modules must be easy to assemble, disassemble and transport. When required a Module will be manually unloaded by forklift or similar, and assembled into a complete facility to record individual animal feed intake, weight, water consumption, and visual observations. The Module itself must be modular in its construction, and must be easily assembled by non-specialist operators e.g. farm worker, laboratory technician. The Module will be assembled from component parts that are linked together using prefabricated rack mounted units (including associated wiring and plumbing) with minimal final connection to electricity and water supplies. All equipment supplied must be rodent and pest resistant. A Module shall consist of all equipment, computing software and ancillary / control equipment needed to run the feed intake and other equipment.
