NATIONAL WAITING TIMES CENTRE BOARD

This public procurement record has 2 releases in its history.

Summary of the contracting process

The National Waiting Times Centre Board, based in Clydebank, UK, has conducted a procurement process for the purchase of a robotic-assisted surgical system titled "Surgical Robot, Maintenance and Consumables." This procurement falls within the health industry category and has been characterised as a limited tender, without prior publication of a call for competition, due to the uniqueness of the required equipment. The contract signing date was 28th March 2018, and the associated delivery location is Clydebank, Glasgow. The procurement process is currently at the contract award stage, having been deemed complete.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses specialising in advanced medical technology, particularly those developing robotic surgical systems. The exclusive nature of this contract demonstrates the high barriers to entry in this market sector, making it suitable for established manufacturers with proven products, such as Intuitive Surgical. Companies that can offer innovative surgical devices or maintenance services tailored for robotic systems will find ample opportunities to target their offerings for future procurement processes initiated by the National Waiting Times Centre Board or similar entities.
