Notice Description

The Retaining Wall Repairs 2018 contract will involve work to 3 separate retaining walls in West Lothian. These are as follows:o A706 Easter Carribber (lying between Torphichen and Linlithgow)o U28 Linburn Road Northeast of Linburn Bridge (lying to the northeast ofKirknewton)o U28 Linburn Road Southeast of Linburn Bridge (lying to the northeast ofKirknewton)Works at all locations will be similar and will initially involve undertaking extensive site clearance including removal of roots, vegetation, trees, bushes and brambles from around the walls and all vegetation on and through any of the walls. Traffic management, in the form of temporary traffic signals, will be required at each location and it is expected that this will remain in place throughout all works due to the difficulty of access. Work will include re-pointing in lime mortar, re-building sections of random rubble stone masonry in lime mortar, repairs to concrete bagging at one of the walls and installation of a drainage filter trench at one of the walls.
