The contract is required to ensure the council is compliant with the Health Safe and Secure part of the Scottish Housing Quality Standard for Electrical Safety within domestic dwellings and communal areas. Homes now require to be periodically electrically tested at 5 year intervals or at every change of tenancy. The contract is key to safeguarding the councils current very good SHQS position and to maintain housing standards and keep tenants safe.
