Paisley Museum Re-imagined - Enabling & Strip Out Works
Notice Description
This procurement is to facilitate the appointment of an experienced demolition, enabling & strip out works Contractor and is the first stage of works for the 42m GBP extension, renovation and refurbishment of Paisley Museum. The aim of Paisley Museum Re-Imagined is to provide a visitor experience of international quality, which tells the inspirational stories of Paisley, its heritage and its pattern. The transformation of the Paisley Museum is underpinned by a series of high-level strategic project aims that will turn it into a: -Leading European museum - telling the story of Paisley as a pattern and a town. -Visitor destination drawing its audience from Scotland, UK and overseas. -Platforming institution for learning, skills development, innovation and research. -Community resource at the heart of Paisley's local life.

Lot 1
The works will be carried out in the existing Grade A Paisley Museum and Library building, the Coats Observatory, Transit House, Grade C-listed Observatory House, and Philosophical Society building and include but not limited to: -Structural demolition and dismantling of parts of buildings -Internal soft strip-out -Dismantling and removal of non-load bearing walls -Dismantling and removal of suspended ceilings. -Removal of electrical, data, fire safety and telephone systems. -Decommissioning and removal of heating and ventilation systems including pipework, ductwork etc. -Removal of heavy plant and specialist equipment -Confined space work and safe extraction of redundant services -Removal of concrete floors and underfloor heating -Effective management and recycling of waste materials -Vegetation, shrub removal and felling of 3No. unclassified trees that are deemed unsafe. -Strip back of ground finishes/paths around perimeter -Temporary protection. -Demolition of the various blocks
