Summary of the contracting process

The Energy Saving Trust Ltd is conducting a procurement process for the "Charge Point Scotland Installer Framework" aimed at establishing suitable suppliers for the supply and installation of electric vehicle (EV) charging equipment across Scotland. Currently in the planning stage, this procurement is part of a governmental initiative funded by the Scottish Government. The contracting authority is based in Edinburgh (EH6 6JH) and has announced an important deadline for suppliers to express interest before the new funding scheme starts in early August 2019, replacing the previous procurement exercise.

This framework presents significant opportunities for businesses involved in the installation and supply of EV charging infrastructure, particularly for contractors specialising in electrical works, civil engineering, and signage provision. Companies with experience in installing charging points and related equipment will be well-positioned to benefit from this framework. Given the growing market for electric vehicle infrastructure, businesses that can demonstrate competent, experienced staffing and a robust understanding of the needs of charge point hosts are likely to find valuable prospects through this initiative.
