Summary of the contracting process

The Forestry Commission is seeking suppliers for the "FW0053 Low Loader Hire Framework" contract, which aims to ensure continuity in operations related to Land Management, Civil Engineering, and workshop repairs. This procurement falls under the services category and is currently in the active stage, with a total contract value of £310,000. The deadline for tender submission is 30th July 2018. This initiative primarily serves locations within Galloway, Cowal and Trossachs, West Argyll, Moray and Aberdeen, and Lochaber, with an open procedure for all interested bidders to participate.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) specialising in heavy plant machinery transportation or related services. Businesses engaged in logistics, civil engineering, and environmental services would be well-positioned to compete, especially those capable of demonstrating sustainability practices and community benefits in their proposals. With five lots available, there is room for multiple suppliers to enter the market and foster growth while meeting the operational needs of the Forestry Commission.
