Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process involves Perth & Kinross Council seeking to establish a Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS) for transport contracts operated by taxis and private hire vehicles. This initiative falls under the services category and is located within the Perth and Kinross Council Area. The procurement method employed is a selective procedure, with the award notice dated 4th July 2018 confirming the completion of the process. The contracts awarded are expected to cover periods of three years, with potential for extensions depending on the tender documents.

This tender presents significant opportunities for growth, especially for small to medium enterprises (SMEs) specialising in transport services. Companies that provide taxi and private hire vehicle services, particularly those capable of fulfilling community care and school transport contracts, would be well-suited to participate in this competitive bidding process. The inclusion of community benefits in these contracts emphasizes the importance of social responsibility, potentially adding value to bidders who can demonstrate commitment to community welfare.
