The current equipment is subject to increasing amounts of breakdowns and trouble shooting in a number of the Vista analytical platforms. High sensitivity troponin (HST) is clinically required across both the Ninewells Hospital and Perth Royal Infirmary sites. High sensitivity assays are important for early and quick rule out/in of myocardial infarction and hence patient length of stay in ED and AMU. These assays can be delivered within a new equipment refresh. Compatibility with the existing Siemens Aptio Trak system is essential. It is considered that a one year extension to the current contract is required in order to provide a full equipment refresh and allow time for the Board to review a regional service model before commencing the next procurement exercise.",
