SEStran wish to investigate the feasibility and detailed design of a series of strategic cycle routes across the South East of Scotland to produce construction-ready design and tender documents. Three routes have been identified for this study; Winchburgh - Edinburgh Airport (6.5km), Buckhaven-Kirkcaldy (11km), and Musselburgh-Portobello (1.7km). These routes form part of important transport corridors for commuters across the region and encouraging modal shift from sole occupancy car use to active travel modes. The outputs will subsequently be used to support constituent councils to appoint a construction contractor to build the route.
